Coaches'
Advice
"Don't
wait for a coach to notice you. There are so
many athletes and so little recruiting time
that I give top priority to athletes that contact
me. Contacting me lets me know that you are
serious about playing in college and are confident
and outgoing. Know the recruiting rules for
the level you wish to play. Depending on the
school (and the time of the year), we may not
be able to actually talk to you until a certain
date. Don't think we are ignoring you, stay
persistent and you be at the top of the list!"
- Brian De Witt - Highland College
"Athletes should market themselves. Most
recruits can promote themselves at very little
cost." - Brad Barbarick - Concordia
University
"Keep sending the coaches information.
The more times we see your name go across our
desks the better." - Amy Weaver -
Hendrix College
"Get your name and info out to the coaches.
Let them know when and where you are playing,
and keep in touch with them."
- Bob Fisher - Baldwin-Wallace College
"Feel free to contact the coach, don't
wait for them to contact you. Also, play hard
no matter what." - Jay Tschetter
- Mayville State University
"Don't
be afraid to call a college coach. We may not
know about you otherwise. All a coach can say
is no thank you." - Kristy B. Ward
- Northwest Shoals Comm. College
"Be
proactive , enthusiastic, & keep your grades
up." - Garry Hilling - North Country
Community College
"Contact
them and make the effort to go and visit the
schools you might be interested in."
- Melissa Lamie - Grove City College
"Contact
the coach more than one time."
- Tammy Mazza - Florida Institute of Technology
"We
can't see everyone. There is nothing wrong with
marketing yourself. Especially the schools you
are interested in."
- Tony DiCecco - The University of Northern
Iowa
